Winnebago electrified the Ford van by tearing out the internal combustion bits and replacing them with a state-of-the-art EV powertrain from Lightning eMotors. The creative e-RV build squeezes 86 kWh of battery capacity onboard, achieving up to 125 miles of range in early testing.

While not yet targeting extended boondocking trips far off the grid, Winnebago intends the first e-RV models to serve shorter regional excursions and daily driving to campsites with hookups. The 50 kW DC fast charging capability allows stopping for 30-45 minute recharging sessions as needed on longer journeys.

Inside, designers optimized the e-RV layout for smaller families with sleeping for 2-4 people, including a pop-up roof sleeper compartment.
