These supply shacks provide seriously powerful loot you won‘t find laying out in the open world. I‘m talking LMGs decked out with top-tier attachments, Sniper Rifles packed with extra ammo, satchels loaded with armor plates, and more.
The unique gear pulled from Warzone 2‘s ground loot gives you a leg up on the enemy faction AI as well as other squads in your match. It‘s the perfect kit for completing missions, hunting down High Value Targets, and ultimately extracting juicy contraband to build your arsenal between matches.
But you‘ll need to track down the keys first. With over 20 different shack locations, each with a special key, you can spend forever searching aimlessly across the sprawling map. That‘s why insider knowledge on key locations is so invaluable.
Pinpointing the Taraq River Supply Shack
Today, I‘ll provide that insider knowledge by outlining how to find and loot the Taraq River Supply Shack. After spending countless hours exploring Al Mazrah, I can definitively say the Taraq shack is one of the most useful for several reasons:
- Centrally located in the Eastern Sector for quick access
- Easy to remember location right on a river bend
- Frequently targeted in supply run contracts
- HVT target nearby has increased key drop rate

Location Guide – Follow the River Bend
You‘ll find this shack in the Eastern Sector, east of Taraq Village. From the village center, head east until you reach the Al-Mazrah River. Then, follow the river north until you come across a small wooden shack on the dock of a river bend.
Use the bridge just south of the shack as a landmark – it‘s right on the inside of the river curve. I‘ve included a convenient map with the shack precisely marked:

Looting the Coveted Key
Once you‘ve located the shack itself, it‘s time to get your hands on that precious key. There are several approaches here with varying drop rates:

Eliminating AI Enemies – Any AI in the vicinity has a random chance to drop the key. I‘d estimate the drop rate around 10% from average grunts.

Completing Contracts – If a Supply Run contract targets this specific shack, completing it is guaranteed to reward the key. These have about a 25% chance of spawning.

Looting Floor Spawns – You can get lucky and find the key in any containers or loot piles inside or around the shack itself. I‘d say this has a <5% success rate.

Taking Down HVTs – The Farmland Compound HVT to the west seems to have an extra high Taraq River key drop rate, around 50% chance when looted. Make this a priority target!
As a general strategy, clear out AI nearby and complete any Supply Runs first. If that fails, push to the HVT for the best odds.

Use UAVs proactively – Pop a UAV after looting to scope out enemies and targets nearby. This can guide your next moves.

Save Armor plates – Stash extra plates for critical moments rather than just topping off your armor each time. Plates are rare loot so conserve them.

Provide Overwatch – The Sniper Rifle is ideal for scouting areas ahead and providing cover for your teammates from an elevated position.

Upgrade weapons – If you loot any Weapon Upgrade Kits, spend them on the Cache Sniper Rifle to add a suppressor and scope for stealth.

How the Taraq River Shack Compares to Other Supply Caches
While I highly recommend looting the Taraq River Supply Shack ASAP each match, it‘s one of over 20 possible supply caches. How does it compare against other shack locations?
Based on my firsthand experience, here‘s how I‘d rank it:
- More central location than most, providing better access
- Loot quality on par with the best crates like Observatory or Waterfall Cave
- Key is moderately easy to obtain compared to some of the rarest keys
- Nice blend of offensive and defensive gear rather than just all weapons
The Observatory and Waterfall Cave keys do unlock superior individual item caches with exotic loot. However, the Taraq River shack provides a full bundle of tactical equipment.
For a balanced supply boost, the Taraq River cache is easily an A-Tier option. Whenever I grab this key, it gives me an instant injection of power for dominating Al Mazrah.
