But the rewards for toppling this tyrant are well worth the struggle.

Much of Surtur‘s loot table consists of common material drops like Rockcore, used for armor/weapon crafting. But the true prize is his ultra-rare Omnium Beast Right Arm drop, which plays a key role in constructing the Omnium Beast mount. This highly coveted vehicle mount offers excellent movement speed and attacking capabilities for overland travel.
The downside is the abysmal 0.5% drop rate estimated for the Right Arm item. From my experience, it took roughly 75 Surtur kills before we saw a single Right Arm drop, even with a full team using drop rate boosting consumables. But eventually, our perseverance paid off and we collected enough Right Arms to all build Omnium Beasts!
Beyond the Right Arm, felling Surtur also provides a hefty amount of experience points. With the proper XP boosts active, I‘ve earned over 500,000 XP from a single Surtur kill. So farming him is great for both loot and XP gains. Just be ready to put in the time and effort needed to take down this titan repeatedly.

You can reliably locate Surtur by travelling to the HT201 Shelter region, then heading to the cliffside plateau at coordinates 48.2, 1086.5. This scenic coastal area contains a glowing space rift portal, burnt trees, and busted mechanoids – signaling Surtur‘s domain. He continually respawns every 15 minutes from that rift, ready for round after round.
When aiming to maximize efficiency, I highly recommend fighting Surtur with a full squad of 4 players, ideally with 1 tank, 2 DPS, and 1 support healer. The tank should focus on disruption and damage mitigation so the DPS roles can unleash their most powerful fire-based weaponry. The support needs to actively heal while avoiding Surtur‘s blows.
