This introduces the wondrous yet ephemeral Veluriyam Mirage area, accessible only to Travelers ranked Adventure 18+ who have completed both Archon Quest Chapters III: Act I "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" and the new World Quest "Destroy the Dragon Lord‘s Imprisoning Branches."
As teased across official miHoYo social media, this update brings a fresh slate of challenges to master, outfits to earn, and lore to uncover. One such puzzle involves entering a stone wall domain to save a small water spirit. In this comprehensive guide, I‘ll equip you with everything you need to breeze through this quest.
Overview of Veluriyam Mirage Area
The fleeting Veluriyam Mirage realm becomes available after finishing the prerequisite quests noted above. Long-time players may find the area‘s fantastical floating islands reminiscent of 2018‘s main story Golden Apple Archipelago. Though similarly dreamlike, Veluriyam Mirage introduces never-before-seen enemies like the Geovishap Sentinel and novel elemental mechanics to master.
While every Traveler‘s journey through Teyvat is unique thanks to Genshin‘s dynamic open world, we all share the common goal of helping those in need, no matter how small. By entering a mysterious stone wall at the request of an equally mystifying water spirit named Kapo, you‘ll soon find yourself following in the Hydro Archon‘s footsteps – unleashing fresh streams of water to nourish the dry, cracked earth.
Step 1: Locate the Stone Wall
Upon unlocking Veluriyam Mirage, navigate westward until you spot a short stone wall near several withered, petrified trees. Use an Anemo character‘s skill (or the Traveler‘s geo construct) to reach higher vantage points more quickly. Glide down to find two little puddles of water marked by sparkling, swirling ripples.
Here you‘ll meet a panicked water droplet called Kapo, frantically hopping up and down. After a brief cutscene where fellow water spirit Kapo asks you to save its trapped friend, you‘ll gain control again facing the stone wall.

Now here comes the tricky part…there doesn‘t seem to be any openings or cracks on the moss-covered wall. Don‘t worry! Just follow these next steps:
Step 2: Move the Crate
Look around for a medium-sized wooden crate. Use a Geo character or construct to push the crate over so it blocks the beam of a strange device called the Streaming Projector. Activate the device, and a swirling portal will materialize on the stone wall!
Tip: I recommend heavyweight characters like Zhongli or Albedo to easily slide even the heaviest boxes. Sucrose can also use her skill to blow the crate into position!
Step 3: Enter the Domain
The portal leads directly into a domain inside the stone wall itself called "Preprint‘s World." Make sure your best fighters are healed up and buffed, as you‘ll face Standard Bearer and Line Breaker Hilichurl foes along with a few puzzles. Opening the precious and luxurious chests make it worthwhile!
Once you‘ve defeated the minor enemies and opened both chests, interact with the domain exit portal to return outside. Another cutscene begins…
Step 4: Save the Water Spirit!
As soon as you exit Preprint‘s World domain, little Kapo suddenly turns all "plump and round." Joyfully bouncing once more, this suggests your actions already freed its captured friend! Kapo‘s friend likely reunited with it off-screen.
So while entering this mysterious stone wall domain and clearing its challenges may have seemed irrelevant, it actually directly resolved Kapo‘s crisis. By activating and utilizing the hidden Streaming Projector, you freed the trapped water spirit. Once again the Traveler brings salvation even to Teyvat‘s smallest denizens.
Deeper Meaning and Connections
Viewed through Gnostic symbolism‘s lens, the withered trees representTabWidget failing faith, while the stone wall enclosing Kapo‘s friend evokes lost wisdom and truth requires spiritual keys unlock. We Travelers figuratively transform solid walls into flowing water so Kapo (Body) unites with their friend (Soul) in spiritual rebirth.
This also thematically connects with Sangonomiya Kokomi‘s backstory from 2021‘s Liyue expansion. The Hydro Archon‘s principles have always involved flowing streams nourishing the land, just as free-flowing energy and water are necessary to flush out blockages preventing human flourishing. Freeing this little water spirit encapsulates the broader mythos of cleansing Teyvat‘s corruption and liberating all its realms.
