Welcome crypto trader! As an industry expert who has helped thousands of people get started with digital assets, I‘m here to walk you step-by-step through the process of depositing money from your bank account into leading global exchange Binance.
I‘ll not only show you how to connect your bank and transfer funds, but also provide tips to avoid headaches based on years of experience. My goal is to have you making your first crypto purchase within 60 minutes!
Why Choose Binance as Your On-Ramp to Crypto?
As one of the world‘s largest crypto exchanges with over 120 million users, Binance offers new traders many advantages:
- Access to 750+ altcoins – more than almost any other major exchange
- Some of the lowest trading fees in the industry at just 0.1%
- Fast account setup and verification process
- Solid security and insurance protection for assets
I always recommend Binance to new clients due to this winning combination of coin selection, affordability, speed and security.
Now let‘s get you set up to start buying your first crypto!
Step 1 – Set Up Your Binance Account
The registration process only takes a few minutes. Simply visit Binance and enter your email and choose a secure password.
You‘ll also want to enable 2-factor authentication for an extra layer of account security. I‘d recommend using an authenticator app like Google Authenticator rather than SMS – it‘s much less prone to hacking.
Once registered, you can log directly into your Binance account dashboard:
Notice the empty "Wallet" tab? Let‘s fix that shortly!
Step 2 – Verify Your Identity
As part of regulations such as Know-Your-Customer (KYC), you‘ll need to complete identity verification before being able to make a bank deposit.
Visit the Verification page and submit government ID such as a passport or driver‘s license along with an address document like a bank statement or utility bill.
The process usually completes within 10-30 minutes. Once verified, you‘ll get full access for deposits and trading.
Step 3 – Select "Deposit" and Input Your Fiat Currency
From your Binance account dashboard, click "Deposit" then select either USD, EUR, GBP or one of the other ~40 supported fiat currencies.
Next choose your deposit method – either bank wire transfer or credit/debit card. For many, bank transfers are the cheaper option with fees around 0.5%. Cards incur higher fees of ~1.8% but are much faster.
Now enter the amount of money you wish to deposit. Daily limits depend on verification level but often start around $5,000 USD equivalent.
Once the amount is entered, you‘ll see Binance‘s bank details pop up.
Step 4 – Initiate a Wire Transfer from Your Bank Account
Log into your bank account and initiate a standard wire transfer using the details provided:
- Beneficiary Name: Binance
- IBAN or Account Number
- SWIFT Code
- Bank Name and Address
- Reference Code! Critical to include.
One pitfall to avoid is forgetting to include the reference code – this links your deposit to your Binance account!
And done! Expect funds to hit your Binance wallet within 1-2 business days.
Step 5 – Start Trading Cryptos
Once your bank deposit arrives, congratulations, you now hold crypto funds on one of the industry‘s top trading platforms!
Explore the Exchange portal to trade between 750 different digital assets – from Bitcoin and Ethereum to altcoins like ADA or DOT.
Remember to enable two-factor authentication and use strong unique passwords for your account and email for top security.
As you build your crypto portfolio, I recommend storing the bulk of funds in offline cold storage wallets rather than keeping them long-term on an exchange like Binance.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Happy trading,
