How to "Collect Sumeru Rose Seeds" in Genshin Impact

With over 60 million players worldwide and gross revenue surpassing $3 billion in its first year, Genshin Impact has become a global gaming phenomenon. This free-to-play open-world RPG from Chinese developer miHoYo has garnered critical acclaim for its anime-style visuals, exciting real-time combat, and vast world known as Teyvat to explore. Players traverse lavish regions based on real-world locations like medieval Germany, Japan, China, and now India.

The recent Version 3.0 update introduced Sumeru, the long-awaited India-inspired region. Lush rainforests, swirling deserts, and South Asian motifs define this new area. Sumeru introduces the Dendro element and over 20 new characters to meet. It represents Genshin‘s biggest expansion yet in its quest to surpass competitors like Final Fantasy XIV, Elder Scrolls Online, and World of Warcraft.

During your adventures in Sumeru, you‘ll take on many quests and challenges. But one confusing objective leaves many players scratching their heads: "Collect Sumeru Rose Seeds." With no instructions given, how are you supposed to find these elusive seeds? Don‘t worry, I‘ve scoured Sumeru extensively during my Genshin Impact gameplay as a content creator and expert. In this comprehensive guide, you‘ll discover exactly how to complete this cryptic quest and collect Sumeru‘s rare rose seeds.

The Mysterious Sumeru Rose

Before diving into the collection process, let‘s cover some background on the unique Sumeru rose. As one might expect from the Wisdom Nation, flowers play a significant role in Sumeru culture and lore. Regal lotuses represent focus and spiritual ascension. Brilliant red saisaris stand for passionate research and knowledge.

The Sumeru rose specifically symbolizes unwilting love – an auspicious meaning for a striking crimson flower thriving in the rainforest. These roses grow from seeds found only in Sumeru, cultivated by sages and academics alike. Their distinctive seeds are the exact item you must collect to complete this quest.

But why does this simple directive leave players so perplexed?…

The Deceptively Difficult Quest to Find the Seeds

Upon getting the "Collect Sumeru Rose Seeds" objective, your first instinct may be to search the wide wilderness for nodes to harvest. Other collectible local specialties like fungi and fruit spawn readily throughout the maps. Yet no matter how thoroughly you scour each corner, not a single rose seed can be found growing in Sumeru‘s lush fields.

Unlike most directives, this quest provides no navigational marker or additional hints. After spending hours combing through rainforest and desert, you may turn to discussion forums and social media, only to find countless other stumped travelers.

So what gives? Why implement a quest that seems impossible based on typical Genshin activities like gathering plants and minerals? Well, this baffling mission exemplifies Sumeru‘s theme of using wisdom over brute force. You‘ll need to think outside the box to uncover the obscure solution. Let‘s breakdown exactly how to collect these elusive seeds…

Step-by-Step Guide to Collect Sumeru Rose Seeds

Follow these steps to easily obtain Sumeru rose seeds and complete the objective:

Enter the Serenitea Pot Realm

The key to finding the rose seeds lies in the Serenitea Pot, your personal realm where you can design domains and gardens. Here‘s how to access it:

  • Open the map and select the sparkle icon in the bottom right corner. This will bring up your realms menu.

  • Choose the "Serenitea Pot" realm by selecting its icon. Your map will now switch over to your teapot realm interior.

  • Next, open the map again and teleport to the Sub-Space Waypoint inside your teapot. This is where you‘ll find the shopkeeper NPC.

Speak to Tubby and Access the Realm Depot

After teleporting to the waypoint, walk forward along the path until you see Tubby. This teapot spirit manages your realm and various shop inventories. Interact with Tubby and choose the "Realm Depot" dialogue option to open his wares menu.

Purchase Sumeru Rose Seeds

Inside the Realm Depot shop interface, select the "Creatures of the Realm" tab. Here you‘ll see Sumeru Rose Seeds available for exchange! You can trade 100 Realm Currency for 1 rose seed. Make sure you have enough in stock.

After purchasing the item, exit out of the shop menu.

Return to Sumeru

With the seed in hand, you just need to head back to Sumeru to finish the quest:

  • Open the map once again and switch the realm setting back to Sumeru.

  • Choose any activated Statue of the Seven teleport waypoint to fast travel.

  • After the loading screen, you will automatically complete the "Collect Sumeru Rose Seeds" objective as soon as you spawn in Sumeru!

And that‘s it – you‘ve tracked down the sneaky seeds and solved this cryptic quest. A dialog box will pop up showing Paimon‘s reaction, surprised you already found them. While highly obscured, using the Realm Depot is the guaranteed method to obtain those rare rose seeds.

Alternate Method: Seed Dispensary Gadget

There is one other potential method to acquire Sumeru rose seeds outside of the Realm Depot, though it relies heavily on luck.

After increasing your Sumeru reputation to Level 2 by completing quests and donating items, you can obtain a gadget called the Seed Dispensary from Aranyaka NPC Vimara. Equip this gadget from your inventory and use it in areas around Sumeru to get random seeds dispensed.

The best place to attempt this is right outside the Steeples of Ignorance domain in Vanarana. Using the Dispensary gadget repeatedly here may eventually dispense 1 Sumeru Rose Seed after dozens of tries. During my testing, it took over 50 attempts to receive just 1 rose seed.

So while possible to get the seeds through this gadget, the Realm Depot offers a guaranteed way via direct purchase. Unless you really need to conserve Realm Currency, I highly recommend visiting Tubby‘s shop instead of relying on the Seed Dispensary‘s low drop rates.

Expert Tips and Strategies

Follow these expert tips to collect Sumeru‘s rose seeds efficiently:

  • Check that you have at least 100 Realm Currency before starting the quest, so you can purchase the seeds right away.

  • Teleport to the direct Sub-Space Waypoint to reach Tubby faster instead of entering through the teapot.

  • Purchase extra Sumeru rose seeds for your garden! Plant them in the correct biome plots to grow your own roses.

  • Don‘t spend hours scouring Sumeru for random seeds – they simply don‘t spawn in the open world.

  • Increase Sumeru reputation to Level 2 first so you can obtain the Seed Dispensary gadget.

  • The Seed Dispensary provides an alternate method but requires significant luck. Expect to use 50+ times to potentially receive 1 seed.

  • Craft the Steeples of Ignorance domain teleport waypoint to speed up farming with the dispensary gadget.

As someone who has lost hours trying to find these seeds, I hope these tips help you avoid my mistakes and collect the rose seeds quickly. Saving time on this quest leaves more to enjoy everything else Sumeru has to offer!
