Constructing the Ultimate Shooting Guard Build in NBA 2K23

As a veteran 2K analyst and meta builder with years of expertise, I‘m thrilled to provide this extensive, one-stop guide to creating the best possible shooting guard (SG) build for dominating NBA 2K23 on current generation consoles.

We‘ll thoroughly optimize your:

  • Physical profile
  • Attribute loadout
  • Takeover
  • Badges
  • Synergies and counters

…to assemble an unstoppable perimeter scorer equally lethal from range or attacking off the dribble.

So whether you primarily play Park 3v3s, Pro-Am or MyCareer, this SG build guide caters to all game modes. Let‘s get started.

Choosing the Optimal Body Settings

More so than any other position, carefully tailoring your shooting guard‘s height, weight wingspan and shape dramatically impacts your capabilities and matchups.

After extensive testing, I determined the ideal physical foundation is:

  • Height: 6‘6"
  • Weight: 180 lbs
  • Wingspan: 7‘0"
  • Body Shape: Compact

Standing at 6‘6", you tower over most point guards and some small forwards to shoot (or finish) literally over them with ease. I found this ideal for capitalizing on significant size differentials without being too sluggish or sacrificing quickness against bigger players.

But Why Not Go Taller?

Some may ask – if height is such an asset, why not max out taller to say 6‘7"? Wouldn‘t this provide even more of a mismatch?

Although it‘s tempting, I don‘t recommend it because:

  • You lose speed/acceleration which are crucial for offense
  • Lateral quickness also suffers, hurting defense
  • Taller builds limit available dribble packages

You want your player moving decisively, not lugging up and down the court. 6‘6" strikes the perfect balance of size and fluidity.

Next, maintaining a slim 180 lb frame accentuates speed and verticality necessary to finish athletically against centers when the opportunity arises….
